Volunteer
The operational backbone.
A robust volunteer program is how every WolfHaven sanctuary runs. Residents, students and corporate teams work in animal care, facilities, events and outreach, coordinated by a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator at each site.
I. Roles
Where you can help.
Animal care
Feeding, cleaning, enrichment and socialization under staff direction. Training provided; some roles need a minimum age or commitment.
Facilities and grounds
Fence lines, enclosures, pasture, trails and the hundred small jobs that keep a sanctuary safe.
Events and tours
Docents, greeters and event crew for open days, tours and fundraisers.
Outreach and education
Classroom visits, tabling and community events alongside the education team.
Foster
Short-term home care for recovering animals that do better outside a kennel, at every sanctuary.
Corporate volunteer days
Half- or full-day projects for employer teams, built around a site’s current needs. See Partners.
Application received.
Your application opens in your email app, addressed to WolfHaven. Send it from there; the team at the sanctuary you chose will be in touch about an orientation.
Orientation
A site walk, safety briefing and your first shift.
Training
Role-specific training before any hands-on animal work.
Schedule
Most roles ask for a regular shift; events are as-needed.
